  • Green Buildings Everywhere
    Green Business

Green buildings are cropping up everywhere. That's because environmentally sustainable, or "green" construction is becoming more affordable, and, dare we say it, sensible. Making it hard to resist the allure of green.

    Green, Good Old Days
    Downtown

Here's something to ponder: Cities built predominantly before 1945, score better in sustainability rankings! It seems that cities like Portland, San Francisco, Chicago and New York have something to teach us. Want to know how your city ranks?

    Green Gas Station
    Gas Station

Called Helio House, it's the nation's first "green" gas station. That's right, a gas station. It's the station's design, not its gas that has been certified eco-friendly. While critics aren't so sure about this, supporters argue that gas stations aren't disappearing anytime soon.

    Pizzeria Takes The LEED
    Pizza

Mmmm. Pizza... But wait, pizza saving the planet? Pizza Fusion, whose motto is "Saving the Earth, One Pizza at a Time," is building their 60 new pizzerias following an unusual recipe of sustainable materials. Find out more!

What Is Green, Gold And Read All Over?
    Library

Like many cities with aging public buildings, Santa Monica knew its library badly needed new digs. Before breaking ground, the city committed to following the "LEED" guidelines and stands to cut energy usage and reduce carbon emissions. Reason enough to go green in my book!
