The Antidote for Nature Deficit Disorder
Do you remember a time when you would run outside during a storm and splash in the rain puddles? Or when you went to the lake with your dad or mom, threw a fishing line into the water, and endlessly waited for a fish to bite? Or lying on the hood of a car on a warm, moonless summer night, looking at the stars and constellations, waiting to spy the one-in-a-million shooting star that would fill you with awe?
Many of us enjoyed these marvels of nature when we were kids; it was a time before iPhones, Wii, Facebook or Twitter. Today, we give our thumbs more of a workout on our cell phone than we give our legs and arms outdoors.
